Library Networks and Databases - LBSC 5613
The focus of this course was two-fold. First, we were tasked to develop the skills necessary to locate, utilize and cite credible sources on a given topic. Next, our focus was on providing instruction to others on the effective use of numerous networks and databases for research purposes for various levels of learners. For this task, I chose to create instructional videos for teachers about accessing and using the Primary Search database from EBSCOHost. This is a service that is provided, but is extremely under utilized. Through my video tour, I demonstrate the various search features that this database offers. Through concepts learned in other courses, such as Digital Media Production and Introduction to Instructional Design, I chose to separate my video tour into smaller parts to make it more accessible for my learners.
Below I have shared the Smore (online newsletter) that comprise my database tour along with a link to written instructions for users that prefer that method of learning.
